About Stephen Reynolds

A dedication to tradition and a contemporary art education characterize the distinctive hand-painted lettering and graphics by Stephen Reynolds. Stephen has been utilizing traditional sign painting techniques for over 25 years to serve businesses, cultural institutions, and individuals throughout the United States and Europe. He is the first choice among architects, designers, and conceptual artists who value his refined technique, insight, and attention to time-sensitive issues when realizing their projects.

Stephen Reynolds was born and raised in Royal Oak, Michigan, a Detroit suburb. He earned his BFA at the University of Michigan, his MFA degree at The School of the Art Institute in Chicago, and later apprenticed in the art of lettering and gilding with a master sign painter in Chicago. In addition to an active career as an artist, he has been painting text pieces, graphic murals, and installation pieces for contemporary artists since 1985.
